"a need to be understood"

hello everyone
This is my first post for 2011..don't have many followers as of now..
but glad to have a few loved ones , means a lot:)
just recently,i was having this very intense conversation with one of my friends from college..
we were discussing  about things on the lines of my last post.."seeing the unseen"..i was telling him as
to how people today, just don't care enough..its so difficult to explain them anything and everything..
you talk about parties, latest "beer" spots and random shit..and you have their ears raised...rest everything is just "bullcrap"..!!
Now this friend of mine had a very interesting take on this..
"make them understand in their own language, you cannot blabber your philosophical thoughts in front
of this generation, they don't believe in it..and why should they..they believe in living their own lives and
they have the right to"
We just need to spread a little awareness..make them realise their responsibilities..and if we are successful at doing that, our job somehow ends there..not completely though!
Alright enough of what i think or feel..wanted to share some of my work that i did with my friends in a group last year..
So basically we had a module called "draping",now the interesting thing about draping assignments is that you need to design a complete garment,But without any stitching, only supposed to use pins and drape a "dummy" also known as a bodyframe!
The work always starts with a lot of conceptualizing, mind mapping and brainstorming..
we kept thinking..a lot of concepts came in our minds..like "Swine Flu","Nagas"...all very "cause" based..and then our brains got stuck to "Bombay"..
But what about bombay?that was the biggest question..a city which is full of neverending colours portraying diverse arenas of life and after a lot of mind conflict we decided to stick upon "Transport"..
It is one of the first things that comes to your mind when you think about this crazy city..we had to design three garments in a group of three..hence here was our concept..
"Bombay to Mumbai".."Trains to Sealink"..
Three garments showing Bombay's journey till Mumbai!Check it out:D
Process-after running all around Pune, half dead,we finally managed to source out the required fabrics..
in the garments:
round wheel like structure-symbolizes railway tracks
grey net-smoke

wires-sealink structure
Hope you all like it:)
Also about my friends,Smriti and Jiya with whom i did this assignment..i dont have enough words to express,we have done neverending assignments together..been roomies for 2 years..and had an absolutely fab time in and outside college:)
I Love them..
